Since 2012, Schola has helped families find and enroll their children in the right schools. But while parents discovered potential schools, they struggled to take the next step—connecting with the schools themselves.

Families explored schools but struggled to take action
Previous research has revealed a concerning trend of high bounce rates on school profiles. This means that families are visiting these profiles but not staying engaged or taking further action.
Schola’s mission is to simplify school discovery and enrollment, but the lack of direct engagement left families lost in the process.

Understanding why families weren’t taking action
To identify why users weren’t connecting with schools, we combined quantitative and qualitative research:
Funnel Analysis – Reviewed drop-off points in the school profile journey.
User Journey Mapping – Studied how families navigated school profiles.
User Interviews – Spoke with parents and the support team to uncover pain points.

Redesigning School Profiles to Drive Action
We transformed school profiles into engagement-driven experiences, making it easier for families to:

Directly contact schools through Schola
Trust Schola as a guide in the enrollment process
Direct Connection with Schola
Clearly indicating when communication would be direct through our platform and when parents needed to reach out to the school.
Simplified Contact Form
We reduced form fields and used user-friendly UI patterns like step-by-step separation and canned responses.
New Profile
We presented the features of the school in a way that parents could easily understand what the school had to offer and quickly assess if the school aligned with their preferences.
Snippets for Informed Decision-Making
By displaying relevant snippets of information about school types and features we facilitate informed decision-making.

Improving Design Solutions with A/B Testing
Although the immediate results were outstanding, given more time, I would have conducted additional A/B testing to thoroughly validate and fine-tune the design solutions. Furthermore, it is crucial to proactively address the imperative to support schools that have not yet been claimed.
